LAGOON TRIGGERFISH Humuhumu-nukunuku-a-pua’a

This fish likes to patrol the edge of the reef and sometimes will travel out over the sandy bottom to get away. This is the state fish of Hawaii, it has a cousing with slightly different markings, with the same Hawaiian name, which is also the state fish. In english they have different names. If you can catch up to one of these fish, they make for a good picture. Maluaka Bay, Maui.
