This goatfish like most others can change color rapidly to adapt to the surroundings or appear more threatening or less desirable to predators. This fish forages the sand and coral for algae using its little goatee whiskers to stir up the goodies. They seem to reach about 8-12 inches in length. Makena, Maui.
