PINKTAIL TRIGGERFISH Humuhumunukunuku hi-u’kole (at Ahihi)

After trying for so long to get a good picture of this fish, here is the second one in a couple weeks. You can’t often see the detailed crosshatch colors in the body, but when the light is right it looks nice, usually it looks all black. Ahihi-Kinau.

This photo really shows the coloration of this fish, for the most part it looks all black with the 2 white stripes above and below the back dorsal fins. Occasionally this fish will show its true colors and markings like this photo, but don’t count on it. Olowalu.
